Arts Alive SDSU is dedicated to providing alternatives for students, college, and employees at San Diego State College to interact in the arts as an integral a part of a comprehensive training that promotes inventive analysis, interdisciplinary collaboration, skilled innovation, and personal enrichment on campus and in the community. Whereas I knew white men were the dominant culture for artistic administrators in the industry, the affinity group breakout periods made it crystal clear—in the one made up of tenured founding inventive administrators of twenty-plus years, I used to be the one lady of colour.

Within the early years Charles Mussett led children’s holiday portray classes, Brian Winston published a summer time holiday youngsters’s newspaper, there was a youngsters’s music workshop led by Southern Arts’ Musician in Residence, the Literature panel ran a number of poetry competitions for adults and children and the Artwork panel ran a Christmas card design competition.
