For all of its small-town allure, Traverse Metropolis possesses loads of big-city sophistication – thanks largely to its established and thriving arts community. The Museum of Arts and Design in New York hosted Patterson’s first New York museum present, Dead Treez , this year, a colorful combined-media extravaganza probing the media’s representation of sophistication, gender, and race. Current solo exhibitions include House, Light, Color, Djanogly Gallery, Nottingham, 2018; A Conversation with Gentle and Type, Tate St Ives, 2018; The Area Between, Parasol Unit 2016; and Rana Begum, Delfina Foundation, London, 2010.
